My friend since HS has herpes - it was some guy that had it and KNEW it had it- didn't tell her. It's not her fault (before you give me the condom speechwe are in our 40's now- wasn't a big deal back then). Now she lives with it always because a guy couldn't tell her he had it.

I would still talk to them. You can't get herpes from talking to someone. Besides, think of how many people you probably talk to that has herpes, or worse, AIDS.

Why would you not talk to them? Would someone not want to talk to you because you have toenail fungus or arthritis? They are still a human, only thing is they have an incureable STD. Get some more info on what diseases are, be it STD or otherwise.

Why would you not talk to someone who has herpes? I wouldn't have sex with them, or kiss them (depending on where the herpes are) but you can't catch herpes by talking to someone.

Herpes is not an air borne disease. I is spread through body contact. Talking will not harm you. Sex or mouth contact will.

You can talk to them, and they won't pass it to you. It's not like you guys are making out or anything.

I do know some people with herpes. It does not change who they are. That is not a reason to shun someone. There are several ways to get herpes and they are not all because one is "dirty", or has sex all the time or are bad in some kind of way. YOu should look up herpes on the net and read all about it...
Make a decision about someone because of their character(or lack therof)...not because of some condition they have.
You need to know more about herpes....and you will not even need to ask that question.
If this person is bad news for other reasons....ok....but that alone should not be a cause to judge them "gone"

I don't think you should be mean to people who have herpes....it doesn't change their personality or their spirit...there are good people out there who got infected with it one way or another, so I don't c what the prob is with having a convo

You won't catch it from talking to them. If it's oral herpes, you might catch it from kissing or drinking after them. If it's genital herpes, you might catch it if you have unprotected sex. In either case, the disease is transferred by coming in contact with the lesions. Lots of people have one form or the other, probably a lot of people have it that you know, they just haven't told you.

Well I wouldn't go around kissing anybody with an open sore on their mouth. You can't avoid people with herpes. You'd be surprised how many people have things you don't know about. You'd never leave your home. Just go about your life normally around them. You're not going to catch anything, I promise.

Talking to someone with herpes WILL NOT pass it on to you... but if the individual has the cold, or something like that, you'll catch cold...
If you're talking with this individual as your having, or just had sex... well, now you'll have to go see the doctor...
