Show your mom the evidence and see if you can't change her mind. If she's still refusing, just go on your own. You're 17, you can do it. |

Go to an ER if you have to. Your parents cannot deny you necessary medical care if you suspect a serious illness. If it is a matter of money, because you are a minor, the hospital may be able to refer your family to a sliding scale clinic or free clinic. God Bless and good luck. |

Maybe you're just being paranoid. Doctor visits get expensive fast, especially if it turns out there's nothing wrong (they just keep going and going) until you have $800 thrown into x rays and over a dozen tests sent to various state labs for biopsy examinations. It's understandable. |

If you are 17, then you could drive yourself as long as you have a license. It's child abuse to not take your child to the doctor if there is something wrong. |

Make an appointment and go to the doctor yourself if you really need to know. You're old enough to go by yourself.
Hope it turns out to be nothing to worry about! |

be sincere with your mom and say this as a command.
Mom, I need to go to the doctor. And you need to take me.
If that doesn't work ask your dad. if that doesn't work ask every day about it. |

yea you defiantly need to see a doc right away, don't matter how you do it but you have too my good man / woman
to be honest i find it hard to believe that your mom wont, a lump of any kind should be investigated immediately |

Maybe she thinks it's no big deal. I know that's how my Mom was when I was 17. Parents tend to think their teenagers over-dramatize things. I had a lump in my armpit that my Mom finally took me to the OB-GYN to check on. Ended up just being an infected pore that was easily remedied.
Other thing is, she may not want to take you for fear that you DO have an actual malady. You may need to tell her that it's really concerning you and that you just would like to have it checked on just to ease your mind. Offer to pay for the co-pay or something, to show her that you're serious. |

get your insurance card from your mother and have a grandparent take you or something, you may need a form of I.D. |

If your mom won't take you go by your self. Or if you need an adult talk to aunts and uncles grandparents. It's your health don't sit back and do nothing. |

17 ? If you can drive, hijack the family car and take yourself to the doctor, because you can do that at your age, and if you can't drive you should get a friend to drive you there, or take the bus or a taxi or something of the sort (be sure to make an appointment first, but that goes without saying ;)
uhmm, it sounds like it might be cancerous .. but ya never know, good luck! |

Go yourself. You don't need an adult to go with you to the doctor, just make an appointment on the sly. I honestly don't understand why she won't take you. |

Go to a medical walk in clinic.. You don't need a parent for that. |

at 17 you should be able to go to the doctors yourself. talk to a friend or a friends mom about it and see if they'll be able to take you and give you the support you need. |

plead your mum, tell her about the seriousness, they probably think its a minor ailment so they wouldn't care.
explain the seriousness. |

That's ridiculous! If it's any change at all, you should have it checked out! Why won't your mom take you? Can't you drive? If you're worried, go yourself, or find a way to go. There is no good excuse for not getting medical attention. You'll find a way to go. But to make you feel safer, I have one, kind of like how you described, on my wrist. It's painless and annoying, but it's called a ganglian cyst. Either way, to see if it's that or something else, go to the doctors!!
Does you mom refuse to take you because she doesn't believe it's serious? If so, go anyway. There's no excuse for that. But if it's money or something else, find a way to go!
Good luck and God bless! |

Ignore the mean answers.
I think you should talk to your mom about it. Tell her that it is worrying you, and tell her about Sarcoma. Print out some info about it, and assure her that you are very worried and want to go to the doctor ASAP. If she still won't take you, ask your dad, and tell him the same.
If they both won't take you, then you are old enough to go to your doctor, and demand some testing. You should catch it now before anything get's worse. It might just be a fatty tumor, but just to be sure, I would go do your doctor.
Good Luck. |

make the appointment yourself asap. Possibly she is in denial which still is no excuse. If you are unaware of your insurance policy information then go to your nearest health clinic or er if you have too. |

Why not just go to the doctor? Is it because of money? Or maybe you are fussing about nothing and your mum realises this?
If you are worried, you could:
- Visit your school nurse and ask what they think
or
- Go to the doctor without your mum
or
- Post in a specialist medical forum where you can hopefully get an answer from a doctor. If they say you should visit your doctor, then you can show that to your mum. |

Do you NEED your mom to take you to the doctor? You are 17 get up and go yourself. Now don't get me wrong, ideally it would be best if she took you but if that is not happening then you need to be proactivein your health care. When your doctor says that you need further tests tell her what he has said. If she still won't help you seek advise from your doctor about your rites. Good Luck and try not to worry till you have confirmation that you need to worry. Good Luck!! |

Talk to a close family member. One that you trust. Thery should take you. And your mom just might not be taking you because she's scared. Cancer is a big thing. Just talk to a family member. I'll pray for you. |
