Just how addicted are you to Cigarettes?? For women smokers only please?
I picked up the habit at 14 & smoked daily till I was in my mid-20's. One day my son came home from kindergarten extrememly upset that I was going to die because I smoked. He began to cry which prompted his 2 yr old brother to start crying which led to me crying as I was trying to assure my kids that I wasn't going to die from smoking! My conscience wouldn't let me lie to my kids so I quit cold-turkey the next day.
I haven't smoked in 20 yrs & ironically, now I suffer from asthma! And worst yet, both my boys, 21 & 25, smoke!
No regrets though...I'm glad I quit. It was the right thing for me to do. Besides, I'm sure as I get older I will be able to return the favor & guilt them into giving something up!

Extremely addicted. Have tried to quit many times and get all the symptoms..........shaking, sweating, headaches, fatigue, mood swings. My children have actually asked me in the past to quit quitting because I become so distraught. I cannot function at work and I cannot stay awake for more that two or three hours without taking a nap.
Its a dirty, nasty, expensive addiction; and I know all the medical reasons for quitting, but still I cannot seem to conquer this beast.
Yes I've tried all the meds and all the gizmos. I've even thought of having myself hospitalized and sedated for two weeks just to get over the initial torture period.

Addicted enough that I'm in my second week of Chantix, and even as a full time caregiver for my elderly grandmother who is now in stage 3 COPD (and recently diagnosed with lung cancer, I'm still sneaking cigarettes). Addicted enough.

I have smoked for 34 years and can't count how many times I quit, unfortunately It would only last a couple of months or so. I started to cough so bad that I would choke and lose my breath so I finally quit in November and thankfully I not even craved or wanted a cigarette again.(Did use patch for 1 week) When I am near someone that smokes now I can smell how bad they stink. and think ewww that is what I smelled like. Yucky. Smoking is very hard habit to quit. Oh I also gained 30 pounds since I quit. But am now ready to take that off. One day and one thing at a time
